Help a friend

Ordered this for a 98 LX that my friend's son owns. His original heatsink failed at the point where the end caps meet the core. I installed it in less than 20 minutes. Fits perfectly! The following information is for a manual transmission, the vehicle has two transmission oil cooling lines that need to be disconnected. Additionally, if your hoses are over a few years old, consider replacing them along with the thermostat. Oh, and one more thing: don't leave antifreeze on the floor as pets will find it delicious and could kill them. A few tips for those who are busy with their own hands. Disconnect the expansion tank hose from the nipple just below the radiator cap. Now pull the plastic spill cup up and out of the way, it might be a little stubborn but it's not secured with screws and should slide out of the bracket. Disconnect the top hose from the radiator and disconnect the same hose fitting from the engine so it can be rotated to the side. Now disconnect the lower hose from the engine, not the radiator, leave that connection alone. Disconnect the fan connector in the top left corner, and then release the clip in the top center. The entire fan assembly is complete and everyone should stand up now. Lay it on the ground next to the new block and, using the old block as a template, transfer the fan, ISO mounts and bottom hose. Carry out assembly steps in reverse order and fill in 50/50 antifreeze. Fill the plastic overflow cup to the cold level indicated on the side of the cup. Start the car and allow it to warm up to operating temperature (the fan will turn on) and then turn it off and allow it to cool completely before removing the cap to check the fluid level. NEVER remove the radiator cap from a warm engine.
