Review on πŸ”ͺ Silhouette Premium Cameo 3 Blade - White (Size: 0.90" x 5.3" x 2.8") by Shantel Griffin

I am totally impressed and plan to continue using Premium Blade.

I bought one to try as reviews seem to be everywhere. Well I will definitely buy another one and if this one is that good I will keep buying it. I haven't delved too deeply into vinyl, but I'm an avid paper crafter with my Silhouette Cameo 2. Lately, Silhouette's ratchet blades just aren't durable when cutting cardboard. For Mother's Day I made 2 very exciting paper craft projects. The first used 9 sheets of 12 x 12 80lb cardstock, 3 sheets of 12 x 12 stencil paper, and about 1/4 sheet of 100lb 8.5 x 11 cardstock. This project alone killed 2 ratchet blades! Really annoying, even considering I buy them regularly from Revain's Subscribe and Save, which makes them a lot cheaper than buying them elsewhere! That's when I decided to try the premium blade. Well, the following project used 11.5 sheets of 80 lb 12x12 cardstock, 5 sheets of 12x12 design paper, 5 sheets of 29 lb 8.5x11 parchment, and 7 sheets of 12x12 gloss cardstock (not smooth, thin glossy cardstock, like Sandpaper, thick glitter card stock (studio paper to be exact))! And the blade still works! Oh, and I love that it doesn't matter how you insert that blade into the Silhouette Cameo. it just works! It has no fin (like a ratchet blade). Several people have mentioned (in reviews) that you can't remove the end and clean around the blade. so not true! I'll say it's a lot harder to unscrew the end of the blade for this, but it's possible (and I've done this after each sheet of shiny cardboard). I actually had to use small needle nose pliers to get a good grip but it came off. Watch your fingers though, the blade is much easier to adjust with this blade, so you need to be sure not to cut yourself! So far I'm totally impressed and plan to continue using these premium blades. If I run into any problems in the future I will try to update this review to reflect them.
