I received the 8" version and although it did the job of forcing the sheet metal component to move over the aluminum frame underneath to the point where the bolt hole in the sheet metal that matches the threads in the frame, he tried to stay stiff enough. Thus, in the last few turns of the screw, the jaw has expanded noticeably, putting stress on the two corners of the "C" shape. I would prefer the designers to acknowledge that the Deep Clamp needs A LOT more reinforcement in the corners if it is to maintain consistent jaw spacing when tightening the clamp.
