I have been using safety razors for about five years now. And the whole time I was looking for the perfect razor for me. Well if you are new to wet shaving you need to understand that not all razors work the same for everyone, no blades, no soap and so on. Therefore, even great products with an impeccable reputation may not work for you. During that time I've tried over five vintage razors from Gillette, Edwin Jagger, Lords, several unbranded Russian and Chinese razors, and a few Mercury. Some excellent, some not so good. I decided to try this qshave as the reviews were so positive and the price so low and for me is the best value for money. In fact, it gave me the best shave I've ever had with a safety razor. The construction of this thing is solid and precise. The one I received aligned the blade perfectly and I didn't have to fiddle with it. Even if the handle may seem a bit short to some, it is quite sufficient for everyday use. Also, few razors come with a longer handle out of the box. The finish is second only to the Edwin Jagger I own, it's almost a work of art. It closes very securely and although the razor is not heavy it is on par with other similar razors. Definitely heavier than most other Far East, Gott and Bakelite models I've used. Where this thing shines is where you need it, in shaving. While not aggressive in any way, it knocked out my coarse beard cleanly without utter annoyance. It was the perfect balance for me and I couldn't believe it shaves so beautifully without the slightest bit of burning. I should clarify and note that I did not use the supplied blades and chose my regular Wilkinson blades. But compared to all razors I've used with the same blade, this one tops the list and will still be my favorite razor, even compared to razors that cost over five times as much. Excellent work!
