Review on PRUNUS Handlebar Ergonomic Antislip Mountain by Larry Boyd

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Easy install, works well with left handlebar mirror and leaves room for my derailleur

90mm shorter handlebars - perfect for my bike mirror/derailleur. The grips are thick, ergonomically comfortable, and open at both ends, which is preferable when using handlebar mirrors. Attempting to cut a custom closed end handle can look ridiculous if not done properly with the right tool. A few quick tips that might help. My old grips had small holes on the end - see photo with the black arrow pointing to the hole. I turned on my air compressor and using a rubber tipped gun I was able to use compressed air to deflate the old handle in about 2 seconds. This is an old golf grip removal tip (except golf grips can blister and pop!). Speaking of golf tips, I used a non-toxic golf grip solvent to install the new grips - you can also use water-based soap. I would avoid petroleum based lubes despite the seller's instructions as they don't dry out and new grips move for a LONG time. See photo of the wet end of the bar and photo of the grip thinner which I used but had on hand. If you really want to hold these grips permanently, use double-sided golf grip tape and mount these grips like golf grips. I've ridden 100 miles with these grips and the tingling in my palms from the old grips is gone now - thicker rubber and better fit. All in all it was a 15 minute project, of which 10 minutes was messing around with removing and replacing the mirror. Hope that helps! PS - I don't know anything about "durability" yet - I'll get back to you later. Update - solid durability, put 130mm grips on another bike - all good!
