Review on Lisle 63250 Range Filter Wrench by James Parker

After struggling with my truck's last oil change in cold weather, I found this tool before I completely broke my arms! Those who own an F150 with a 5.4 Triton 3v will know where this oil filter lives, which is difficult to remove with a regular strap wrench. I can reach my hand out there, but trying to grab it with my hand and twist it gets harder every time I have to. I looked at several pieces of this type and for the price decided this is the hottest install. He arrived and upon inspection noted the alignment of the spring and how others were having trouble resolving it. I slightly modified the spring at each end with needle nose pliers and bent the hook shape slightly to now have a 90° detent under the hole to prevent unwanted detachment. I tested this tool to fit a Motorcraft fl80s filter on my shelf that is earmarked for my next oil change. It fits perfectly and holds up great. I'm very happy with this new tool, just have to wait for the next oil change to complete the deal.
