I bought this for one reason: to squeeze the excess liquid out of salted vegetables. I make a lot of Asian dumplings that call for salty chopped Chinese cabbage, which oozes a lot of liquid and needs to be squeezed dry. My old way of wrapping towels ruined several towels and tired my weak hands. A whole head of salted cabbage fits into such a large container. It works like a charm and I LOVE IT. Also suitable for cooking Korean panchan (spinach, bean sprouts). I gave one to my sister in law after she saw me using it.
