The device has theoretically paid for itself five times over if they retain the data. However, the phone's SD card turned out to be a dud; I needed 64 GB and nobody around here had any, so the card has been collecting dust in my desk drawer ever since. Benefits that vary: Hard disk that is silent, portable, and easy to carry (hard drive) After using it for over a year, I decided to upgrade to the 2TB model, and it has proven to be a dependable product, producing less heat than my previous WD 500 GB drive. That includes the computer, and the outdated WD computer! I've been satisfied with them for at least the past 11 years. Some drawbacks: The only catch is that you may need to shut all open programs or restart the computer before you can physically remove it.
