They are a lot thinner than I expected - they don't look like a scarf at all - 10" wide and are gathered so they stretch wider but straight back leap. They are made of very thin material and are probably quite fragile, although they were intact when I received them. Don't expect anything more from them than bright color and keep in mind that due to their subtlety, there are likely to be many interesting uses (headband, belt, handbag, etc.). If you were hoping to use them to cover your head, you will be disappointed. They are too small to use for a hijab or even as a tichel style bedspread but I intend to use mine as decorative accents along with full shawls as they are so thin they don't add any weight or warmth, but definitely beautifully colored .
