Hey this is a cheap tachometer that will record engine RPM fairly accurately on small engines. I like that the battery is swappable (some aren't, so it only lasts a few months and then it's thrown in the trash), the backlight is on your terms (on/off/intermittent). What I would like to improve is a slightly longer cable (it barely reached the spark plug wire on my Yamaha golf cart) and a clip on the end to bypass the spark plug wire and capture the signal. The wire winding works with a frequency and an accuracy of approx. 90%. They tell you that with fewer or more turns around the cable you can fine-tune the RPM reading - no, it doesn't matter, at least for my Yamaha's single-cylinder 4-stroke. But hey, it's cheap, so expecting too much is unrealistic.
