Review on Sterling Plastic Straight Metric Instrument by Michael Swanson

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Inaccurate on every measurement

This level does not read the level. It's always better to personally check the level before you buy it. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a 2 foot tall plastic pipe in my area. I bought this more expensive level hoping it would be a quality instrument, but it is by no means quality. There is an easy way to check the level accuracy - just place the level on the surface and mark the exact location of the bubble. Then turn the spirit level so that the side that was on the left is now on the right. Check the position of the bubble again. If the first reading differs from the second, it means the level is misaligned and you are not getting an accurate level reading. Aside from the level being inaccurate, the ruler didn't print properly on the side of the level. Of this, the first 1/16 inch remained. Metric marking has also been disabled. Also, the plane isn't even 2 feet long. When checked with a tape measure, the overall length is 23 and 7/8 inches or 66mm, making it functionally useless for measurement. The design wasn't "heavy" either. The plastic used is soft and too thin, making the whole thing twist easily and exhibiting constant distortion in a corner where it's been hit by a short fall. This product is garbage.
