For CO2 distribution in aquariums with diffusers you absolutely need CO2 certified air hoses to withstand higher pressure requirements. A standard aquarium air hose will only work if you blow bubbles into your filter's air inlet or use some other low-pressure approach to CO2 injection. The reason I can't give this 5 stars is simple. With CO2 on, it takes about ten minutes for the diffusers to start bubbling. There are no leaks in the system. When the CO2 is turned off, it will continue to bubble for about ten minutes as the hose flexes a little. It would be nice if CO2 started and stopped instantly, but this can be compensated for by setting timers. A note. Make sure you soak the hose in boiling, moderate water for at least twenty seconds to soften it before attempting to connect it to a fitting. Also, don't forget to add a check valve to the system.
