Review on Eton Grundig G2 Black NG2B AM/FM/Shortwave Radio with Recorder by Corina Doepke

I found my G2 on sale at Fry's for $40 so I'm not complaining too much about it. Its tiny speakers look like metal, but I'm using mine with an optional Microlab MD220 speaker and they sound great. Shortwave is convenient and interesting for recording. I bought a 16GB micro SD card and uploaded MP3 and WMA files to it. It plays great, except it can't play MP3s recorded at 320k resolution (the manual says so), which makes up the bulk of my collection. Too bad. It has its downsides, but it's a nice little radio to take with you when you travel. AM and FM are sensitive and autotune works well on FM but not AM or SW. The clock seems to keep the exact time unlike my Grundig S350. First thing I ordered was a larger capacity BL-5C battery which seems to increase playback time. All in all a well made little radio. IF you can buy it for less than $50.
