Review on Quick Release Dog Backpack by Outward Hound Kyjen by Amanda Rochon

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Time and effort in advance

There was no size chart when I originally ordered, so I deviated from the reviews and had to buy twice. Don't buy this product based on your dog's weight, buy it based on their girth. I personally like how my pup looks in his backpack. It also gives him work and tires him out more than a simple walk. I also like the mesh pocket on the outside which gives you easy access to essentials like your keys, phone, a pack of gum, etc. Yes the straps are long as mentioned in many other reviews but this is done to ensure they fit. Variety of dog bodies (this isn't a custom backpack, folks). Here's the solution: Fasten the backpack to the pup and put the straps on each side appropriately and EVENLY (see my note below), take it off and trim off the excess at the end about an inch or two, melting the edges. lighter to prevent fraying, fold and sew. The last part is really important. Folding and stitching keeps the strap on the clasp so it doesn't slip off as you walk (as it did on mine). I also understand why it can lean on the dog's body for two reasons: 1) They put too many things on one side to align. 2) The straps on each side were too tight on one side and not enough on the other. Both are the problem of the user, not the product. It will take some time and effort, but once installed you're set for backpack life. If this sounds like rocket science to you (or maybe you're lazy, and that's okay too) then this product isn't for you.
