I bought this handy adapter because I was having annoying WiFi dropouts. For some unknown reason it stopped working when I needed it most. I suspected interference since I live in an apartment building, but I had no proof other than that my wired connection to the PC was working fine when the WiFi went down. However. Let's get back to the plugin. The plugin doesn't support Plug and Play on my MacBook Pro Early 2015 (MacOS 10.14.3) so I had to download the drivers. I don't have an optical drive connected to my Mac, so the small driver CD that came with the plugable doesn't work for me. Anyway, after a quick download of the driver, installation, and restarting the Mac, I was in business. wireless network. Nothing special. (I have wired Internet access through Xfinity.) With Plugable I get the same download speed (around 5 Mbps) and 70 Mbps upload speed - no service interruptions. Not bad for a $15 purchase. Five stars for performance. Otherwise four stars.
