Works with Nintendo Switch!

If you're looking for an Ethernet adapter that will give your Nintendo Switch the fastest possible network connection, this is the one for you. Great value for the money, works right out of the box and the extra length ensures it slips easily and easily into the dock (where the USB 3.0 port is located). I tried 2 other ethernet adapters and neither of them had a cable long enough to plug into the dock and back without straining anything.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • A Little Repairability

My internet speed has dropped by at least 300 Mbit/s.

. I have internet at 1 Gbps, I tested it with another adapter and with it I would easily get 950 Mbit/s, this one; not so much: only about 650 Mbit/s and now and then only about 550 Mbit/s. The company helped me a lot, they gave me a set of instructions to fix the problem and also sent me another one. But it just didn't get any better so I returned it for a refund. I have a 2015 MacBook Pro with the latest High Sierra.

Pros
  • . Good product for the price.
Cons
  • . Update available.

Works as advertised and manages gigabit.

Advantages: The Linux kernel has a suitable built-in driver. Powers gigabit when connected to a USB 3.0 port. Haven't tested gigabit duplex. Supports checksum offloading like any other known network adapter. Works well when negotiating connection speed and duplex mode. USB with support in all relevant operating systems. (Sorry, FreeBSD and Solaris.) Has a blue plastic tab pointing to USB 3.0. Thick cable, most likely shielded or twisted pair. These things. The plug is made of plastic, so…

Works with Nintendo Switch

I bought this for use with Nintendo Switch. It works when plugged into the USB 3.0 port on the back of the docking station. Better value than the official $30 HORI, which likely uses the same controller chip as this one. The cable is long enough to hang on the back or side of the dock (length included). If you are using LAN on the switch, the cable icon will appear in the top right corner of the main screen. When I undock it, it automatically connects to the last known Wi-Fi network, and does…

It's basically Plug & Play with Nintendo Switch

This is a great add-on device for Nintendo Switch users who want to play with their TV display but need docked Nintendo Switch physical local access to a wired ethernet connection . You may want to use a wired connection if your wireless network is not working as expected. This is recommended for more reliable, lag-free online play, faster game updates, faster downloads, and a better Nintendo Store browsing experience. You will also need an Ethernet patch cable of sufficient length to connect…

  • Sturdy construction

Up to 40% faster download speed

I bought this handy adapter because I was having annoying WiFi dropouts. For some unknown reason it stopped working when I needed it most. I suspected interference since I live in an apartment building, but I had no proof other than that my wired connection to the PC was working fine when the WiFi went down. However. Let's get back to the plugin. The plugin doesn't support Plug and Play on my MacBook Pro Early 2015 (MacOS 10.14.3) so I had to download the drivers. I don't have an optical drive…

Fast connection after driver installation

I ordered this adapter for my wife who uses a work computer. It has USB ports but no Cat 5 Ethernet port. She needed the speed and reliability of a wired internet connection, so this device seemed to do the job. Unfortunately, because her company's computer has been "locked down" by her company's IT department, she is unable to install any software or drivers required for this adapter. Luckily, I had a similar adapter that didn't require installing drivers, so I traded my adapter in for hers…
