βΊ Why I Like It: I looked at a few key points when choosing a cutting machine. Because these blades are very sharp, safety had to be a top priority. I wanted the blade to retract fully and protect the edge of the blade all around when retracted. I also wanted one with non-slip grips and protection for my pinched index finger in case I accidentally slip off. I definitely don't want to run my finger across the top of the blade while pressing down! What a VERY! I also wanted the blade to extend and retract by pressing and releasing the handle so I didn't have to use a lock. This would be most secure as then I wouldn't forget to unlock the lock before putting it down as suggested by the manufacturers. But at the same time, I wanted to have a lock in case I do some fun curly twists and cuts. Without the lock I couldn't get into turns and still pull the blade out just as easily. Because any latch can put my finger or thumb at risk, it must also provide protection to keep my finger or thumb from slipping into the blade. It was also important to have a soft grip to prevent fatigue. Additionally, some of us develop arthritis in our hands as we age. I'm not there yet, but getting to this point won't need me to swap out my cutter for a more arthritis-friendly one if I think about it and plan for it now. I like hanging things up. This makes it easier to find versus keeping it in a drawer, keeping things tidy while providing another layer of security compared to discreetly searching in a drawer. This model comes with a handy hanging hook. Finally, I wanted a good brand for warranty, blade replacement, and durability. I didn't want to invest in a name I didn't know and then regret it. I'd rather spend a little more now than have to replace it later and waste that money. I didn't want much, did I? After all my research I finally settled on this one and was very happy with my decision. I just don't know why it took me so long to buy one of these. βΊ Dimensions: max 2 Β½" blade retracted x 6 Β½" long βΊ Benefits: Makes fantastic straight and clean cuts. Super easy and even fun.
