These are just totally inappropriate speaker stands. I bought these looking for (6 inches) shorter coasters than the ones I currently have and gave them a try. First, they advertise "cable management" which is only on top (they cut a hole in the tube); On the bottom, you should use the included spikes to lift the stand to allow the cable to come out. Except that you should NOT use spikes unless you are on carpet. Not only are spikes bad for hardwood floors, they transmit vibrations like crazy. Yeah, and the damn spikes don't fit either. The top is a flat plate welded to a short piece of pipe that "fits" into the tall pipe from the base. Metal on metal again: resonance. Nothing is tight. You need to hide the crappy wooden base around the long pipe with black spacer. Perhaps a washer on top could be used to dampen the vibration of the metal? If trying to return these items in import friendly packaging didn't drive me crazy, I would return them in a heartbeat. Anyway, I'm very thankful for my old wooden coasters; Ironically, they were made in America and bought by Revain!
