I bought 2 of these RAM sticks to increase the processing power of a home server I was building. The computer had 4 RAM ports, so I just plugged those 2 in with the existing 2 sticks of 512MB RAM. However, after downloading it, I got a black screen with debug information (Ubuntu). Restarted again, same problem. Removed 2 old sticks and now it works like a charm. There is a noticeable difference in performance. I hope to buy 2 more of these in the future to reach the maximum capacity allowed. General? A great way to revitalize an old computer.
