I used to wear a 1 inch wide leather belt which was thinner and I used it to carry tools on my hips at work. This one is very strong. No kidding, the first day I wore this my hips stopped hurting from carrying tools. It's wide enough not to dig into your hips and back, and almost feels like it's carrying the weight FOR me despite being so durable. The only complaint I could make is that due to the 3 hooks in the buckle, it's difficult to put it on without looking, but that makes it more secure.
