Review on 📱 Transform Your Asus Eee Pad with the TF101 Mobile Docking Station by Brian Krump

So I ordered the Asus Transformer 16GB tablet and immediately decided I wanted the USB functionality in the keyboard dock. But it's much more than that. Pros: Wow, typing on a real keyboard is much more accurate and easier than on a virtual keyboard. Of course, you don't get word suggestions or spell checking, but that doesn't bother me. I know we all make mistakes when typing. Keep in mind that this keyboard is tablet-sized, so it's smaller than a regular keyboard, more like a netbook-sized keyboard. But it is easier to use than any virtual on-screen keyboard, and I have used Asus Transformer onscreen keyboard, Ipad2 virtual keyboard and my android phone virtual keyboard with swype. This docking keyboard is the easiest and fastest way to type. Some people might argue with that and say it's just as simple. That's her opinion and that's mine. Chiclet or island style keys are easy to use without tangling. It might feel cramped on larger fingers, but I like it. As long as the keyboard is in use, you can continue to use the touch screen. Makes it really easy to move the cursor. The trackpad for cursor control is very useful. Multi gestures work great. You still have to get used to some of them. The hotkeys are nicely designed and useful. Asus gave it a lot of thought beforehand. The keyboard appears to be firmware upgradable. Not only does it have one full-size USB port, it has two. I've had no trouble plugging in an 8GB flash drive, copying files back and forth, then safely ejecting and ejecting. So easy to use. I didn't use the MMC.SD.SDHC slot as I mostly use Micro SD on my tablet or USB sticks. Spring. While I could imagine some people pressing too hard and damaging the mechanism that connects the device if it's misaligned, care must still be taken. After connecting the tablet, which has become a netbook, looks very crisp. This is a well thought out design. It's also really nice having extra battery life for the entire device together. When docking, I noticed that the tablet itself stops consuming power and the keyboard battery shuts down to about 3%, then the tablet battery is about power. There are tablet and keyboard power viewer apps so you can see the status of each. The keyboard can be charged separately or in combination with a tablet. As far as I can tell, it charges both while in the dock. Not sure which is first. Also note that the charging indicator is only on the docking station, not on the tablet. I noticed 4 different gauges showing the charge level. A fast blinking orange indicates a low battery level of less than 3%. Slow blinking orange means that the state of charge is less than 10%. Solid orange charges less than 95%, then green charges from 95% to 100%. Please, see my cons below for more information on charging. I do feel that the keyboard is fairly light but honestly it adds a bit of weight to the entire docking product but who cares. It doesn't like that he weighs 10 pounds or more. When docked, it weighs less than 3 pounds. It has longer battery life, and that's important to me, not finding the lightest tablet in the world. It feels pretty solid to me, so a little weight gain doesn't bother me. CONS: First I have to add this to be fair it adds extra weight to the whole product in the dock. If you try to find something that practically levitates when you let go of it, then look elsewhere. This does not come with a charger. You must use the one that came bundled with the tablet or buy an extra one. Don't expect an extra charger. When typing, there may be a slight delay after a key is pressed before it appears on the screen. Not a huge delay, but some might notice. The charger that came with your tablet may cause problems when trying to charge it. What worked for me after googling was I put the adapter in a bag without the USB cable and put it in the freezer until it cooled, then plugged it in. Sounds weird, but it really worked. to me. The next time I charged it there was no problem where I had to freeze the charger. Please educate yourself about this issue by searching the internet. If it scares you at all, you might want to consider another product. A great combination for me so far. I highly recommend the keyboard dock. but it seriously worked for me.
