I've researched dehydrators for years and finally settled on this one, mainly because it's all stainless steel and 10 bowls. I use it to make dog treats, maybe one day I'll use it to make human treats. So far I've dehydrated turkey heart, beef kidney, roast beef, hot dogs, and chicken. I don't dry them fully and prefer a leatherier texture than hard or crunchy ones (risk of choking if not swallowed properly). I want them to be soft and chewy for workout treats, just dry enough that they don't leak into treat bags or onto the bottom of the fridge (ziploc bags don't seal). Once the treats have reached the right consistency, they will separate easily from the sieve trays - a small percentage will require a little more force to separate. The trays are easy to clean after soaking and using a soft brush. I use a fruit roller tray on the bottom for drips and it cleans up easily too. I dry the trays with a towel and am impressed that there are almost no sharp edges to snag the towel on. The inside of the device can also be easily cleaned with a damp cloth. The quality is superb - there are no sharp edges anywhere. The only minor issue was that the instructions said to remove the packaging tape covering the display and logo. When I peeled it off the logo, about half of the letters peeled off along with the tape. I emailed the seller to try and get a new decal and they asked for my invoice. I haven't heard from them since the bill was sent. At the end I will try to peel off the rest of the letters. That small disappointment aside, this is a great device and I highly recommend it.
