My gelding injured his eye and tore his stitches after a week so I needed something to stop him from doing it again. This mask gives his eyes plenty of room, and the wire keeping them away from his eyes also makes it difficult for him to rub. You definitely have to order a size smaller. I always buy butt size for my boyfriend but after reading the reviews I bought pony size and it's still a bit big. It seems very durable and that it should last.
