I decided to replace my own spark plugs after a local Mazda dealer offered me over $250 to do it with very overpriced Mazda brand spark plugs. After searching the internet for 5 minutes I found it very easy and MUCH cheaper to do it myself. The mechanic recommended I use the NGK brand, they say Skyactiv engines are picky about spark plugs (maybe why Mazda spark plugs are over $30 each?). These spark plugs worked GREAT in my 2013 Mazda 3 Skyactiv 2.0G. a special metal coating on the threads so they don't need anti-seize treatment. NGK does not actually recommend using anti-seize agents on it. No gaps required, I installed them as is and replaced my original spark plugs which have done 85,000 miles. When I first started the car, it started faster and ran noticeably smoother than before. After driving them for 2 weeks I noticed the fuel economy was about 2mpg better than before (my mpg and horsepower slowly went down as my old spark plugs aged). If you have a Mazda with a Skyactiv engine, I highly recommend them!
