I hooked it up to a 12 volt spark plug wire and good ground, plugged in the GPS washer, started the engine and it's been running ever since. I know some of the negative reviews say this product is hit or miss. So far I've clocked 1217 miles on the odometer. still no problem. 5 stars from me for ease of installation and reliability. Oh, and that's pretty accurate. I had a buddy who drove past me on the freeway and got on 95 and it was exactly 5 mph when we swerved and hit a red light. If it doesn't lift your boat I don't know what will. A 5A fuse is connected just in case.
