I didn't follow the installation instructions because they didn't make sense and it wouldn't work if I tried to follow them. It seems they said to put the cover on and then connect the wires, which doesn't make any sense. I threaded the wire through the links the way lanterns are arranged with chains. But that made it difficult to align because the links on one side weren't as taught, so instead of messing around with the wired side I removed a link on the other side and it was level after that. It looks good and I'm glad I bought it. I'm glad I've already installed many lights because I wouldn't call an electrician for help.
