I really like this cradle! We've been using it for 7 weeks now. I love that it moves easily across carpet and the mesh upper is very easy to put on and take off and I can see through it and all the mesh sides. We originally got it because we have cats. Kon is most certainly a mattress. It's not "super thick" as advertised and blended in where the baby lay fairly quickly. Be aware that this cradle has unusual dimensions and is not easy to replace. After much searching I got a 34" x 18" mattress from aBaby (which was sold through Amazon) but you can also get this custom size mattress on their website. Look for a cradle mattress of this size when you search on Amazon. I also used 36x18 "cradles" which fit nicely. My final change to both the supplied mattress and the new mattress was to cut out a very thick piece of cardboard to stay underneath, which held the sheets better and prevented the mattress from folding. When buying just pay attention to the mattress problem, otherwise very satisfied!
