Worked like a charm

Worked like a charm on a 2007 Dell Inspiron 1501. Plugged it in and started right away. Another plus is that it was Crucial Technologies branded RAM. Not to mention becoming crucial, it can be any brand. By the way, if you have problems with your system when using the new ram, you can remove the cmos battery for a while, then install the new ram and just reboot to AC power without battery. This will clear the system memory locked by the RAM that was included in it from the OEM. Also works to force older laptops to accept more RAM than the manufacturer's original specifications. All the documentation for my model says 2GB max but now I have 4GB and I know people who have actually put 8GB in the same model. Another tip: make sure you buy your new ram in pairs, such as this set of 2. This is important when replacing RAM to ensure your system accepts it. The two sticks I received match the Crucial model/serial number as read by the system scan software that you can get online for free. Hope this helps someone, I know how hard it is to find info on older laptops etc. Mine is from 2007 and works like a champ. You may also want to replace your HDD with an SSD, this will also greatly change the way your system works, and you can also easily upgrade your WiFi card, just do your research and find the AC card that other people had. work on the same laptop model etc. CHEERS
