Review on 🌀 ZJchao 2000 RPM Mini Electric Ceramic Machine: Pottery Crafts Tool with USB, 4.5 cm Diameter by Peter Tennant

I love this miniature potter's wheel! It runs smoothly and quietly and has a variable speed that you can adjust on the fly. It brakes a bit with increased pressure, but I find it more helpful than a hindrance. You can adjust the speed with a push instead of relying on a button. But it's not very pressure sensitive, so as long as you use a gentle touch you won't have a problem slowing it down or stopping it. It has a very small surface area so is only suitable for miniatures, but that's exactly what I wanted. The wheel does not wobble, it rotates smoothly at any speed. Full Disclosure: I haven't been able to make a real pot yet, mostly because I was testing the wheel with clay I made myself. I didn't stretch the clay fine enough to make it unsuitable for use on the wheel, and small chunks of clay kept flying off when I tried to center it. But that is purely a user error and has nothing to do with the quality of the machine. I've since bought some air dry clay and when I finally play with it again I'll try to update this review with photos of my creations. It can get a little messy. Aside from the loose chunks of clay (again, my fault, not the bike's fault), there was a bit of spatter. This can be easily mitigated by covering the work surface with a cloth and perhaps using a wheel in a shallow pan as a splash back. However, due to the small footprint, splashes are minimal and the machine itself is easy to clean with a damp cloth. It runs on electricity and although the cord is not very long I was able to plug it into an outlet and use it. It's in bed so it's long enough for my needs. There's also a USB port so you can plug it into a small battery if you need more portability. The prices for these wheels vary considerably. I bought mine for $16 which I think is a pretty good deal considering the high build quality of the handlebars and the variable speed option. I personally wouldn't pay more than $25 for it, so if you're interested in buying it I'd wait for a good price. Also, my kit didn't come with tools so you can buy the tool that comes with the tools or buy some of them separately. Tools are essential for pottery this size, you just can't do that much with your fingers. If you search "plastic clay tools” at Revain, you will find many options at very reasonable prices. Overall I am thrilled with my new wheel and look forward to making miniature pots, bowls, vases and anything else I can dream up. high. So funny!
