I haven't had it in a very long time so I don't know how long it will last but I was pleasantly surprised after unplugging it from USB in my truck that it stayed on ! I bought this for my old work truck because I don't have air conditioning. But it would also be great for a kennel or if you need to take your dog with you and it's warm outside. (although I will never leave my dog in the car in case he rolls over or something). This is the only downside. It is full of water and can easily spill if not on a flat surface.
