I'm not the type to leave a review after using a product once. I usually give 2 or 3 weeks before submitting a review so I can really get a feel for how the item is performing and performing over time. But I used this iron the same day I received it and it's already working wonders! I bought this as a replacement for the pro nano babyliss, whichever works (for various reasons). I like that it's a fraction of the price, so we're off to a good start. The main reason I chose this straightener is that I wanted something heavy duty to pull my hair with minimal effort. I've used lighter straighteners (I'm looking at you Babyliss) and they make my hair thin and frizzy. I spend over an hour styling my hair (yes, it takes a long time) so I use every possible cut. The glass rhinestones give the iron just the right weight, allowing me to be easy on my wrists by letting the weight of the iron and gravity do all the work. Second, the digital display is fantastic. I try to keep the temperature between 350° and 375° and since the temperature is adjustable and displayed very clearly on the iron, this eliminates any guesswork. The temperature increase/decrease buttons are in a place where they cannot be accidentally pressed. Likewise the on/off button. Another plus. The plates are good, everything is well assembled. The blades are pressed well together when the iron is closed. You don't catch my hair. Rhinestones gently caress my hair, but do not cling to it. The iron had no smell. Most irons have a strange chemical smell when first used. It didn't have any at all, which was a pleasant surprise. The only downside is that the few rhinestones closest to the plates were slightly discolored when first used. But I'm all about functionality, not looks, so I don't care. It's worth noting that there is a small pouch in the package with extra rhinestones in case you lose them along the way. The instructions are clear and simple, the packaging is nice. Hey, it's all about the little things, right? I have no idea how this iron will hold up over time. But now it's just great. I would definitely recommend this and I'll update my review in the future to make it clearer how it's holding up.
