Review on πŸ”§ Precise TD-56 Screwdriver Set by VESSEL by Sam Thorpe

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Good construction, poor ergonomics

I bought these VESSEL drivers to replace the Moody Pollicis JIS drivers I usually use and while they have some good points I will be going to Moody's for my next purchase to return . Good things first: These drivers are very well made and the tolerances are good and tight. Apart from 0.9, which is to be expected with such a small driver, I didn't have any blade failures. The color-coding and hard case are nice touches. And now for the bad: the ergonomics are just terrible. The shanks and end of the handle are too narrow to get a good grip, and using it on anything that's even slightly solid or threaded is a recipe for a sore hand and a tight screw, as it's almost impossible is to apply good torque to them compared to Moody's with plastic grips (or even crappy "jewelry" drivers you find at flea markets). This renders them useless for the camera/lens work I typically use them for. Also, the small rubber bushings are very poorly designed/executed. After just a few uses, they become so loose that they slip off as soon as you pick up the driver. While these are well-built drivers in a nice package, ultimately the tools mostly focus on usability and sadly fall short. in this department.
