I should have listened to all the customers who complained about the smell. It has a fairly strong musty smell, perhaps mixed in with the faux leather smell, which will hopefully dissipate over time. However, due to complaints, I ordered "red" - I didn't want a red-red - I wanted a maroon or brick-red shade. It's like a dark reddish brown. It's nice enough. I think you get what you pay for. I'm not kidding about the smell.
