It's not clear why they used HD with a rotating disk and a needle inside - since it's not very strong in the fight against hacking. The moving disk design means all you have to do is turn it on and off and your data will be destroyed. So make sure you back up important data to a different location on a solid state drive so you don't lose it if/if someone decides to destroy your data without even connecting it to a computer or trying to all fancy, nonsensical resin to circumvent glaze. What a joke product IMO. I wish I could return mine. Save yourself money and headaches - this item doesn't protect your data very well.
