I am a car mechanic. All connections were soldered, wires routed correctly. After 2 years, the control unit failed, causing the trailer's left rear light to not work. I used a digital multimeter to pinpoint the source. The right tail light (yellow wire) detects voltage in the control box and no voltage comes out. I only tow a small camper 3-5 times a year. To be honest, the installation process was straightforward and plugs straight into the factory wiring with minimal fuss, but the reliability of this product and lack of customer support made me consider replacing this kit with another brand.
