The lighting did not work when wiring and connecting to the boat trailer. I assumed it was probably a problem with the trailer headlights, but the trailer headlights worked on another vehicle. I installed this on a 2015 Dodge Journey and it ran fine. I didn't have the issue with the short cable going to the passenger side like the others, I had a lot of cables so I think they fixed that issue. I also used heat shrink connectors instead of the cheaper ones that came with the kit.
