We have five cats and this device, along with the Rubbermaid Commercial Microburst Duet, goes a long way in eliminating odors rather than masking them. I programmed the unit to replace refills within 90 days, 24/7 odor control. This has been our best odor control solution to date. It seems some people are having trouble with this device not spraying properly. I have uploaded pictures showing a possible cause. In the cartridge misplacement image (left image), note that the tabs on the cartridge are not in the slots in the dispenser. You will find that the tabs on either side of the nozzles (pictured right) will fit into the corresponding slots on the dispenser when the cartridge is properly loaded. Hope that helps. It is also necessary to press the power button after changing the cartridge to reset the counter on the display.
