Review on Kensington MicroSaver Retractable Laptop K64538US by Joseph Hall

cozy. not sure about security.

Well I guess the only way to know how strong a really thin cable is is to grab it with a pair of pliers. But I won't. Remember. You will always have some insecurities and doubts when you leave your precious laptop behind. I'd like Kensington to comment on that - thin cables are obviously the first thing people think of when they see this. Does the lack of reassurance mean that (1) they actually know it's not the safest thing to do and/or (2) they think it's a deterrent rather than a real security measure but say it would hurt their chances of selling ? ? The only way to clear up some of these doubts is to use it in a relatively safe place where there is a constant flow of people first. I wouldn't leave my laptop in a coffee shop, library, or college dorm room without locking it. And in places like this I wouldn't mind using it, because any baddie trying to fiddle with a lock or cable is sure to get noticed. But I would probably only use it in places like this. Use thicker cables for anything you consider less secure and/or more private. (The reason I bought it in the first place is to use it in my library, graduate center, and Chinatown bus, so I'm very happy with my purchase.) The length of the cord might be an issue for some people . too much of. It's really quite short. On a full-size table, your computer should be no more than 1.5 or 2 feet from an edge/corner when using it on the front leg of a table. Unfortunately there aren't many options out there with retractable locks (which is what I was looking for). This is the only company with a good reputation. I've looked in many stores including computer stores but this is really the only one. Revain's price is pretty good. However, I don't understand why it fluctuates around $1. Hope that helps!
