Disc Retainer Locks - Turn left then right if key doesn't work.

After watching LockPickingLawyer's YouTube channel, I decided to try ABUS with Plus kernel. Nice castle! You only get two keys, and since it's a disc-latch lock, you need to rotate the discs for it to work stably. These are not master locks, not brinks or other junk, there is a trick here: insert the key (maybe twist/wiggle a bit to get into the disc pack), turn counterclockwise (counterclockwise), turn clockwise, the lock opens . DO NOT TIGHTEN IN ANY DIRECTION! You have to somehow reset the dials in the lock for it to work, but it may take an extra second to perform a small back and forth motion for the lock to open. Again, NOT FORCED! If it takes strength, you're either doing it wrong or you need some Graphite Lube (or maybe the Houdini Spray BosniaBill uses on his YT channel). Someone else wrote that their key broke in very cold weather. In warm weather, lubricate it (or leave it inside for a while) before operating the lock if you think it will be exposed to extreme cold. The tolerances between discs and pads are tight, so anything sticking them together is likely to bind (including ice or frozen fat).

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Doubtful
