In my opinion, this gravel vacuum is the best. I got this for my 10 gallon mystery snail tank. They produce a lot of litter and they needed something small enough to hold 10 gallons but powerful enough to get all the litter to the bottom. That was excellent. It has a fish guard and I cut a piece of pre-filter sponge to put in the guard (I have small pinhead sized snails). It worked great. It didn't clog and I was able to safely remove all debris without sucking on the kids. The suction power is strong and the flow rate is easy to regulate. It works so well I will definitely be ordering another one for my 55 gallon aquarium! It was a lot easier to use than the one I already have.
