They installed in my 2007 Scion tC. Small magnets are used for attachment, with which I am very satisfied! You can definitely wind down the windows during use. But for obvious reasons, you don't force them into a closed position. I love these things and am very glad I have them. Very simple, just pull. Protects the metal part of the door. You can attach the curtain with the longest edge around the inside of the curtain door frame as close to the door as you can see in the photo. Doesn't interfere with closing the door. The magnets are very small but very strong. You can just slide everything back like a shower curtain to get it out of the way. It didn't seem to stop me from seeing while driving. I keep them pressed against the door pillar next to my seat/head. They keep the inside of the car MUCH cooler even though my windows are dark tinted. UPDATED: October 11, 2021 Well the concept was a brilliant idea but the wear and tear of the rather thin fabric that the magnets sit on is just too great. much for that. As you can see from the photos I posted it is worn and the magnets are out of place. As you can see I lost 4 magnets. This is because they are used as designed and as shown in the video they include in the product description. Reduced the star count from 5 to 3 based on the wear and tear it has seen in such a short time of use. If I were to suggest changing the product I would make this part out of a more durable material as it will wear down with use as shown in their video example. I really love these things but was sad to discover them this afternoon. Four magnets have come out and a few more are on their way out.
