I started using this product in the early 1990's. It is excellent for waxing old, weathered and scratched car paintwork. You won't get white spots emphasizing imperfections like you would with regular wax. However, this is NOT a touch up paint. It will NOT fill in or hide scratches and chips. However, this will stain them and make them much less noticeable. I bought red wax to "hide" the scratches I left on the hood of my fire truck this summer when I had to drive it through several barbed wire fences. Are the scratches gone? NO! Are scratches (down to the primer) less noticeable? YES SIR? A few tips: 1. Before use, keep the bottle upside down for a few days, and then shake it VERY well to dissolve the paint in the liquid.2. Apply on a warm day and NOT in direct sunlight. It's a pain to polish this stuff when you apply it to really hot metal.3. Apply wax in very thin layers. Again, buffing is a pain in the butt if applied too thickly.4. Wear disposable gloves or your hands will be waxed for days. Don't wax anything you don't want to dye. even a thin streak takes on the color of the wax.6. After polishing, you can apply additional layers to chips and scratches. this will help hide imperfections.
