This item saved me a lot of money. I had a pretty decent load of ammo one evening when I noticed my ammonia gauge was going out. I didn't have any reef salt that night so I couldn't do an emergency water change. Add some of this and it will bring ammonia levels down from a warning level to an acceptable level. The next day, after having the opportunity to get more salt and make more water, I changed the water. All my fish saved. Keep in mind that this will not remove ammonia. It binds the ammonia in a harmless form for up to a couple of days, until you change the water and find the cause of the surge. Ammonia still needs to be removed as soon as possible by changing the water.
