Review on Makita DCB200A 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless Heated Blanket: Stay Warm Anywhere! by Jared Stauder

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Hardly warms a small part of the duvet - Grade 1 - that's generous

Let's start with the fact that the part of the ceiling that actually heats up is 15% - see image with heated area highlighted. Also, calling it a "heated blanket" is a joke. In my living room, which was already 70°, the tiny heating surface of the ceiling could barely reach 94° after 40 minutes. Compared to the heated vest I have, the vest reaches 117° in less than 10 minutes. Makita should be able to reach at least this temperature. The duvet itself is great. Weight with battery is very large. and if it got really hot, I'd happily put up with the weight. But carrying around that much weight and it can't even reach 97.3C body temperature, it's definitely too heavy for the amount of heat it produces. The marketing that it would run for 35 hours on a 6 amp battery should have been a clue. Who needs 35 hours of heat in one session. 4 hours of HEAT would be great. Finally costs! A $100 battery free blanket is 5x overpriced, even at $20 I would have been disappointed but probably kept it as it wasn't worth returning. but at over $170 with battery and taxes it's a crime. Like other reviewers, I'm shocked that Makita put their good name on it. Your tools are way better than that.
