If this is your first time assembling prefabricated furniture, buy something else. I would say that most if not all of the 1-2 star reviews were from people who didn't know what they were doing. The instructions aren't very detailed, but if you pay attention to which side goes where (for/against), you won't have any problems. I assembled it myself in less than an hour. This is pressed wood. Take your time and don't "force" yourself. Do this and you'll have a beautiful piece of furniture when you're done.
