Then he died. Not my first rodeo - I've installed many wireless routers, this one was purchased to replace an EnGenius router that recently burned out from a lightning strike. Overall the setup/management software accessed at 192.168.1.1 seemed slow, the menus were not set up very well. I downloaded and installed the latest firmware, but it also felt a bit clunky. My wired and wireless Windows computers connected successfully after a few reboots and seemed to be working pretty well. But while the IOS iPad was connected wirelessly, the IOS iPad Mini was unable to connect, and neither was my Revain Tap. I was still playing with those trying to solve problems when it all just stopped. Now even Windows computers connected with a wired connection cannot go to the network or the Internet through the FVS318N router, let alone wirelessly. I verified that my cable modem is still working by plugging this computer I'm using to write a review directly into it and immediately starting the return/refund process. I should have read the reviews first. At least I'll get my money back eventually, but I've only wasted about a week of my post-lightning time waiting to get this far. Just to fail. No more NetGear. The fried EnGenius worked really well, I can try another one, but I need 8 wired ports.
