I bought this to record sound with a Tascam DR-05 recorder as my camera doesn't record good sound. No matter what settings I tried on the Tascam, I couldn't get any input for this recorder. Since this mic worked (and worked well) with both my phone (LG Stylus 5) and the portable Dictaphone I use to take notes (Sony ICD-PX312), I thought it was a problem with Tascam . So I ordered a Zoom HLN recorder and that mic didn't work with it either. Still, I'll keep it to myself and give it four out of five stars. It's a decent price for the price I paid, even if it doesn't work for what I need. But 18ft is a very long cable and works great with my Sony recorder (which had a terrible mic).
