Review on Hankook Tire Winter i*Pike RS2 W429 205/50 R17 93T by Stanisaw Muter ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Expectations were not met, average quality.

I looked at two tests of the magazines "Behind the wheel" and "Autoreview". In them, these tires took one of the leading places. I bought these tires in the dimension 205/55 r16, I thought that there would be a "WOW" effect, but the only thing I understood was that you need to drive carefully on them. Today in Hong Kong, 09/29/18, 1-2 degrees, I changed tires to data. The first impression was that they changed the suspension from a stiff one to that of a Toyota Camry :) The softness and smoothness just rolls over. But as soon as you enter a turn at 60 (not very steep), it immediately became clear that in these tires the handling is sacrificed for softness). The car slows down badly on them, and if it slows down, then the clatter of spikes begins, acceleration is also not her strong point. So far I have driven 50 km, maybe the spikes have not yet fallen into place. All this on dry asphalt. I really hope that during the harsh winter, they will show themselves as excellent, rowing, rolling tires. I’ll say right away that I’ll add a review as soon as the snow falls, or the tires roll in.

Pros
  • Soft. Lots of spikes. Good tread pattern. They balance well, the total number of weights per wheel is no more than 45. Looks good on the wheel (especially if you stand behind and see the tread)
Cons
  • Rumble after 110 (there is a suspicion that the spikes have not yet found their place). Handling is weak, braking and acceleration are 3. Where Champiro entered turn 80 on Chinese winter tires, there is a maximum of 70, and even with demolition.
