Both fuel filters had cracked inlets.
First, I make money repairing golf carts. I installed the first filter and noticed a fuel leak where the fuel line connects to the filter inlet. It turned out that the entrance had a crack. Then I installed a second filter, it was exactly the same. Cracks and fuel leakage at the inlet to the filter. A complete waste of money. I've never had this with simple in-line fuel filters.
