Review on ๐Ÿ”„ Dorman 76810 Shift Boot with Knob: Superior Gear Shifting Experience by Mike Johnston

Revainrating 2 out of 5

"Skin " is good enough. I agree with other reviews

At $28 I wasn't expecting it to look OEM. At the same time, for $28, I expected it to be at least decent. And of course he does his job. "Skin" is good enough. I will agree with other reviews; If you want to save, buy something cheaper. I'll list my problems with it: 1. The plastic bracket didn't fit the console perfectly. It's ok, I replaced the OEM with my old spare boot.2. "Cap" of the top gear switch just stuck and immediately detached. I glued it back on and it came off again. I ended up using that. It's cheap plastic and it doesn't feel the best in the world.3. The silver paint on the cover of the chart has worn off after a month or two to reveal reddish plastic.4. The pen itself is smaller than the original pen (sorry no photo! I threw away my old pen before deciding to write this). It's not much smaller, but it wouldn't be desirable for a man with big hands. As a side note, when fitting a new boot, be it this one or not, make sure the metal bracket is nice and tight or the grip will loosen when shifting hard. Don't tie it either.

Pros
  • body and fairing
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
